So fall has arrived. For everyone that didn't melt this summer, we want to invite you to come check out what Cafe Bamboo has in store. We have updated our menu and plan to steadily have daily specials available. Please check out our current offerings on the "our menu" tab on the right.

Also, we are now offering a locals discount of 20% off for New Orleans area residents. Just come by and say "hey we're local, give me some fricken food" or something like that, and we'll hook you up.

8/12/09: SUMMER VACATION CORRECTED

We recently posted that we would be taking a two week break from August 16 through August 30. Actually, we will have our late night menu starting at 8 pm for the week of August 17 through August 24. The final week of August we will be closed enitrely. Once again we apologize for any inconvenience this may cause anybody and are looking forward to seeing everyone in the fall.

Hi. Hope everyone has had a nice summer. We at Cafe Bamboo have had a great time meeting a whole lot of interesting new people and sweating it out together. We want to thank everyone that has come by recently for your support and hope to see you again soon. With that said we want everyone to know that Cafe Bamboo will be CLOSED FROM AUGUST 16 THROUGH AUGUST 30 for some much needed r and r. We apologize for any inconvenience this might cause anyone but rest assured we are going to come back better than ever!!!

We would like to personally welcome all of the out of town Jazzfest-ers to beautiful New Orleans. Please come stop by for some delicious vegetarian fare.

4/15/09: NEW MENU, ECO-TO GO CONTAINERS, AND MORE

We have updated our menu. It contains a few new Indian items (VIndaloo Rice Bowl, Pakora appetizer) made by our cook Bryant as well as some new soups and an option to "wrap up" any of our rice bowls in a garlic-herb tortilla. Also, a note on the current "non-vegan" status of the collard greens and collard green rolls. We have not been able to get the vegan soy ham we had been using so have instead been using a brand that contains egg white powder. We apologize to the vegans out there but hope to have vegan ham again soon. Also, we have switched from styrofoam to moe ECO friendly carryout boxes. We hope everyone understands this effort and doesn't mind paying a 30 cent surcharge per item for deliveries and carryout. It really is that much more expensive than styrofoam. Small cost to save the planet right...

4/8/09: FESTIVAL SEASON

So it's April in New Orleans and you know what that means...FESTIVALS. Jazz Fest, French Quarter fest, and many more make this the best time of year in New Orleans. Please come by and get some food here at Cafe Bamboo in between the fun. Don;t forget we have our late night window open until 2 am. So come on by . On the subject of festivals, we have the first ever veggie fest coming up on May 17. Check the happenings section for more info. Have fun!!

2/11/09: LUNCH, NEW HOURS

Hey everybody. This is going to sound complicated but all you really need to know is that you can now get Cafe Bamboo Monday to Saturday 11:30 A.M. to Midnight!! Please read on for more detailed information about our hours though. We are now really truly offering lunch and dinner monday through saturday. We open our doors at 11:30 in the morning and don't stop table service until 10 at night. We keep our delivery and carry out going until midnight. You can eat the carry out here as the bar will be open until late. We also do still have our late night window open til 2 am most nights. Delivery is also available at lunch of course. So there it is, you pretty much have no more excuses if you haven't tried us out yet! To clarify:

MONDAY-SATUDAY 11:30 AM- 10 PM (DINE-IN), DELIVERY AND CARRY OUT UNTIL 12, LATE NIGHT MENU UNTIL 2 AM

2/1/09: AFTER A MONTH...

...things are going pretty great at Cafe Bamboo. We have yet to have a totally dead night where absolutely no one shows up (we've come close once or twice), we have an awesome staff, we are getting great feedback and even online reviews, people seem to love the food and atmosphere, etc. etc. So yeah, we are pretty pleased with the first few weeks! Delivery is in full effect and lunch is going to start Monday Feb 9. On that day, we will also extend our schedule to include mondays. So stick with us as things grow. We want to thank everyone who has come by and invite you all back again. Of course we hope to see a lot of new faces in the second month. Stay tuned for an expanded menu as well. THANKS EVERYBODY!!

1/29/09: WE NOW DELIVER

For those of you living or working in the French Quarter/Marigny areas looking for a new delivery option, look no further. We will deliver to your door free of charge Tuesday-Saturday 5pm-midnight. Just give us a call. IF you live nearby int he bywater or CBD, call us too and we can probably deliver to you unless we're too busy.

1/18/09: THANKS FOR A GREAT FIRST FULL WEEK :)

Just wanted to thank everyone who came by and made our first full week a big success. The feedback we have been getting has been overwhelmingly positive and it's very exciting. There have been a few small bumps in the road but we've worked through it thanks to our great staff and friendly customers. If you haven't made it by yet, we hope to see you soon. Take it from some people who have already come three or four times that you won't be disappointed!! Even if you aren't a vegetarian, we guarantee you won't miss the meat. So that's all, just wanted to let everyone know that Cafe Bamboo is on a roll and say thank you for a great start.

So don't get me started on the headaches that ATT have given me butlong story short, our phones are down until thursday. If anyone has a pressing issue or wants to place a large pickup order, they can email us with that and it will be checked regularly. I promise. But...we are open so come on down.

1/11/09: OPENING WEEKEND, OH YEAHHHHHHH

So we did it. We had our opening weekend and we now fully exist. Well, almost fully. To anyone that is doubting that because of a failed attempt to call us at the advertised number, rest assured that our phones will be working monday along with credit cards. We would like to thank everyone who came on thursday for being patient as we got totally overwhelmed by the amount of people who showed up. A good problem to have but we did get a bit backed up. Please come back again. We've worked out the kinks and you can get the same great vegetarian food without the wait. We promise! We have gotten great feedback all weekend and are very encouraged about the prospects of having a vegetarian restaurant in beautiful carnivorous New Orleans. Our staff has been awesome too!!!
